“Seeing the refurbishment start around three years ago and the planned graphics we wanted to try this on return visits to the city. The finished article when we stayed last week exceeded our expectations - Brilliant. Tastefully decorated and furnished in all areas Rooms - the house keeping very good. Staff Friendly , professional and always helpful going above and beyond with their good service. Breakfast?........Make sure your hungry for the full English but if not so there is a comprehensive……

“離市中心一般，回酒店時要經過一條很斜很斜的路（Steep Hill），沒有自駕車極不便。 雖然有升降機到達3樓，但經濟房間那邊，仍然要經過約5至6級梯級，要搬運較重的行李箱極不便。 服務員，態度好。剛入住時，天氣非常熱，詢問要把風扇，第2天才有，已是幸運。”

“I have stayed here before, and it has usually been OK, although not great. This time, the room I was first given had a collapsed wardrobe rail, and the second room had a loose bathroom hot tap, a very noisy bathroom fan, and the room’s waste bin was unusable. Restaurant food was OK, but the portion of fish in the fish & chips was surprisingly small, so it was poor value for money. I think the staff must be used to customers complaining, because they don’t seem at all bothered about things that……

“Comfortable ”

“Staff: Welcoming, friendly, helpful, efficient and willing to go the extra mile. Executive Rooms 367 & 369: spotlessly clean and comfortable - good bed and choice of pillows but room a bit faded and dated - needs a bigger TV as distance from bed is too far for comfortable viewing. Lift out of action - not helpful - Best Western need to sort this pronto Spa & Pool: closed for refurb - needs sorting. Breakfast and Bar meals....good.”

“Beautiful rooms, environment, staff - would definitely go again!”

“The location is excellent - so close to the castle and cathedral. There are two very good real ale pubs just down the road and plenty of restaurants nearby. We were lucky enough to get free parking the whole of the week. The weather was hot, so air-conditioning would have been nice, although its a listed building so probably a challenge.”

“Great location in the countryside. Very peaceful. Facilities were good. Good pubs down the road. The host was very friendly and helpful.”

“Room was dirty on arrival, pubic hairs in bed, no other rooms were not available, so had to leave and stay elsewhere. The receptionist was lovely but she was on her own could not help in anyway. The website shows lovely clean rooms, but this was not the reality. I have started a claim for a refund but would never book to stay again”

“Room was clean but the wardrobe needed mending. There were also a couple of holes on the window ledges. The room was quite small. It cost me £63 for a night with a shared bathroom and for the cost I expected better. The shared bathroom was the floor below which was too far from the room. Would have been handy to have a sink in the room. It said on Expedia site there was parking but I was not allowed to park in the car park because I only had a single room. If I wanted to use the car park……

“Staff were very friendly and welcoming, particularly at breakfast where they were chatty making a very welcoming experience. The rooms were lovely and clean. I had no issues at all during my stay. The breakfast was excellent, especially considering it was included in the cost of the stay. I would certainly recommend to any type of visitor. Great value for money.”
